Detection
Dual Mono / Panned Mono
Finds stereo files where both channels contain identical audio. The most common space waster in sessions — often created by recording a mono source to a stereo track.
Phase Inverted
Detects files where one channel is the phase-inverted copy of the other. Summing these to mono would cause destructive interference — MonoMate warns you before this happens.
Silent Channel
Identifies files where one channel (left or right) is completely silent. These are stereo files that are effectively mono, just with wasted space.
No Audio
Flags files where both channels are completely silent.
Conversion
Format Preservation
WAV stays WAV, AIFF stays AIFF. Bit depth and sample rate are preserved exactly. No transcoding, no quality loss.
Batch Processing
Drop entire folders. MonoMate scans recursively and can process hundreds of files in seconds.
Configurable Output
Choose to add a suffix to converted files or replace in-place. Control how post-conversion files are handled.
